The Miami Dolphins head coach, Mike McDaniel, experienced a significant setback after the team’s recent game against the Tennessee Titans. McDaniel began his NFL coaching career in 2005 when he was hired by the Denver Broncos as a coaching intern at the age of 22 under head coach Mike Shanahan. That year, the Broncos achieved their best record since John Elway’s retirement, going 13-3. In the postseason, they defeated the New England Patriots 27-13 in the Divisional Round but lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-17 in the AFC Championship Game.

In 2006, McDaniel joined the Houston Texans as an offensive assistant under head coach Gary Kubiak, who he had worked with in Denver. He collaborated with offensive coordinators Troy Calhoun, Mike Sherman, and Kyle Shanahan during his time there.

In 2009, McDaniel moved to the United Football League, joining the California Redwoods (later the Sacramento Mountain Lions) as a running backs coach under Dennis Green.

McDaniel’s next position was with the Washington Redskins in 2011 as an offensive assistant, reuniting with Mike Shanahan. He worked alongside future head coachesSean M Kyle Shanahan, cVay, and Matt LaFleur. In 2013, he was promoted to wide receivers coach but was not retained after Jay Gruden became the head coach.
