Training Camp: Brown reported one player showing attitude….

The Cleveland Browns officially begin their long-awaited training camp this week, and this year’s group of players promises to make for an exciting summer. The success of Cleveland’s offseason training is crucial for personnel development, so let’s highlight some players who could shine in the coming weeks.

Quarterback: Tyler Huntley

Tyler Huntley joined the Browns this offseason after four years with the Baltimore Ravens. While Jameis Winston is the favorite for the backup QB job, Huntley could make a significant impact in camp with his playmaking ability and athleticism.

Running Back: Aidan Robbins

Aidan Robbins was one of Cleveland’s first UDFA signings after the 2024 NFL Draft. Standing at 6’2” and weighing 237 pounds, Robbins has shown impressive athleticism and pass-catching ability at UNLV and BYU. His skills should transition well to the NFL, and he’s expected to make some exciting plays in camp. Look for the linebacker-sized player in the running back group.

Wide Receiver: Jalen Camp

Jalen Camp, entering his fourth NFL season, was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 6th round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Despite spending most of his career on practice squads, Camp possesses the athleticism and build to succeed. Listed at 6’2”, 220 pounds, with a 4.43 40-yard dash time, he’s one of the biggest and fastest receivers in camp and could be involved in explosive plays.

Tight End: Treyton Welch

Treyton Welch, an athletic UDFA tight end, was underutilized at the University of Wyoming. With the size and physical profile to contribute as both a blocker and pass catcher, Welch has a chance to make the team as TE3 in 2024. He may not be the flashiest player, but he has the potential to be a valuable addition.

Offensive Line: Wyatt Davis

Wyatt Davis, a highly-ranked offensive guard recruit from Ohio State, has great movement skills and a powerful lower body. His initial struggles with the Vikings were due to knee and ankle injuries. If healthy, Davis has a legitimate shot to impress along the offensive line behind Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller.

Defensive Line: Isaiah Thomas

Isaiah Thomas is entering his third season with the Browns after spending 2023 on the practice squad. Drafted in the 7th round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Thomas’ ability to win with both speed and power makes him a valuable depth option on Cleveland’s elite defensive line. Expect him to generate excitement as a pass rusher alongside Myles Garrett this summer.

Linebacker: Winston Reid

Winston Reid, an intriguing 2024 UDFA signing, has the potential to impress the coaching staff quickly. Known for his ball-tracking ability and tackling efficiency, Reid was one of the top FCS linebackers in 2022 and 2023. While he will focus on special teams in camp, Reid could also make some notable plays on defense.

Defensive Back: Vincent Gray

Vincent Gray, a hybrid CB/S, is entering his second season in Cleveland. Claimed in November 2023, Gray has shown promising traits and could become a full-time depth piece. At 6’2” with 32.4” arms, Gray has the athleticism and skillset to be an effective field corner, similar to Martin Emerson Jr. Expect to see Gray making plays and getting second-team reps in camp.

The Browns’ training camp is set to be an exciting showcase of emerging talent, with several players poised to make a significant impact.
