GOOD NEWS: Nott County started working right away to complete another transaction

Notts County have made significant moves in the transfer market by signing wing-back Kellan Gordon and midfielder Curtis Edwards, strengthening their squad for the upcoming season.

Gordon, 26, Joins on Two-Year Deal

Kellan Gordon has signed a two-year contract with Notts County after opting not to renew his deal with Crawley Town. Gordon’s contract with Crawley expired following unsuccessful extension talks. The wing-back, who made 53 appearances for Crawley since joining from Mansfield Town in January 2023, played a crucial role in their League Two play-off final victory over Crewe at Wembley in May.

Notts County’s board member Richard Montague praised Gordon’s attributes, stating, “He’s a great fit for us and, with his prime years ahead of him, has an opportunity to grow with the club. Kellan is quick, strong, and powerful, while also being very composed on the ball.”

Edwards Adds Midfield Versatility

Curtis Edwards, 30, has also joined Notts County after declining a new contract offer from National League side Woking. Edwards spent the latter part of last season with Woking, where he made 17 league appearances. His career has spanned across Scandinavia, where he played for Östersund, Djurgården, and Stabæk before returning to English football.

Richard Montague highlighted Edwards’ value to the team, saying, “Over the many years he spent in Scandinavia, he established himself as a strong performer at a very high level – and he continued to show his immense quality at Woking earlier this year. He can play in various midfield roles, which gives us more flexibility and depth, and is a fantastic technician who’s also very hardworking and mobile between both boxes.”

Both signings are seen as crucial additions to Notts County’s squad as they prepare for the new season, with Gordon bringing defensive strength and Edwards offering midfield versatility.
