Napoli heartbroken after a disappointing attempt to sign striker, only to learn he’s joining West Ham for £31m

West Ham are reportedly closing in on signing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran for £31 million, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Vitale from Area Napoli. Despite initial reluctance to meet Villa’s £35 million asking price, West Ham have seemingly negotiated a lower fee with add-ons.

Duran, a 20-year-old Colombian, has been frustrated with limited playing time at Villa under Unai Emery, leading to his potential move. His impatience has drawn mixed reactions from Villa fans and Emery, who values him highly.

Napoli had shown interest in Duran but were informed he is set to join West Ham. This transfer is seen as a significant move for the Hammers, with Duran expected to contribute both presently and in the future.

West Ham fans are optimistic about Duran, viewing him as a suitable target given his potential and attributes, especially compared to other linked forwards like Callum Wilson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
