Newtown Football Club is proud to extend heartfelt thanks to our retiring steward, gateman, match day volunteer, and cherished friend, John Lloyd. Over the years, he expanded his role to include steward duties, working alongside notable figures like Keith Tanner, Roy Francis, Alfie Syers, Mike Harding, and Peter Collins. John’s presence at Latham Park has been a constant and comforting one, marking his involvement in every European fixture, domestic cup final, youth international, and numerous other events hosted at our beloved stadium.
A Pillar of Latham Park
John’s dedication is not just measured in years but in the countless moments and memories he has been a part of. Known affectionately as “Grumpy” to many at Latham Park, John’s stern exterior belies a heart full of passion for the club and its community. His steadfast service has been instrumental in the smooth running of match days and events, providing a reliable and familiar face to both fans and visitors.
