Wigan Warriors open to move
Wigan Warriors boss Matt Peet is considering a player transfer after a successful year both on and off the field. The Warriors won the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford and the World Club Challenge at the DW Stadium in February. They also made notable signings, including Adam Keighran, Kruise Leeming, Sam Walters, and Tiaki Chan.
However, Peet mentioned that one of these players, Tiaki Chan, might need to leave temporarily to get more game time. Chan, who joined from the Catalans Dragons after a breakout season in 2023, has only played in three of Wigan’s nine Super League games this season. Peet told Wigan Today that Chan might benefit from a loan move to regain match fitness.
“He’s going to play for the reserves at the weekend, and moving forward, he might play a couple of weeks out on loan to get the game time he needs and to work his way back into our squad,” said Peet.
Wigan has seen key players like Sam Walters and Ethan Havard return from injury, creating strong competition for places in the squad. Peet emphasized the importance of fringe players being ready to seize their opportunities.
“It’s all about being the best prepared you can be and looking to improve every week as a player,” he said.
