NEWS FLASH: Brooklyn Nets Set to Agree $100,000,000 Extension for Key Player…

The Brooklyn Nets picked up a major haul in exchange for now-former star player Mikal Bridges , who has now joined former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo with the New York Knicks.

After losing one of the most important players on their roster, the Nets are now intent on securing another one of their key players to a massive extension. According to reports, Nic Claxton is on the brink of signing a $100 million extension with the team.

Claxton’s current three-year deal with the Nets ends this summer, and it is clear that the front office wants the 6-foot-11 center to be part of their future plans.

The Nets have parted ways with Bridges’ $90 million deal, which means that that money had to go somewhere. Claxton will be glad to know that this is now going into his own pockets.

Brooklyn acted promptly on Claxton, who garnered a lot of interest in free agency. In order to fend off interest from opposing teams, the Nets had to go nine digits with Claxton’s new deal.

For what it’s worth, Claxton pocketed $9.6 million last season, which means that his new annual salary of roughly $25 million is going to be a huge pay hike for the 25-year-old. To be fair, Claxton has established himself as a premier defensive big man in the NBA, and you have to say that he deserves to get the bag.
