NFL has suspended 15 key players from LSU tigers…

Really, guys? REALLY??

News has come out that the three suspended LSU players must sit out this week because of testing positive for synthetic cannabis.

Yes, that’s right—cornerbacks Tyrann Mathieu and Tharold Simon, and tailback Spencer Ware were busted for this:

“Synthetic marijuana is sold as blends of exotic herbs and plant materials and are coated with chemicals called synthetic cannabinoids, which produce a marijuana-like high when smoked.”

Might as well have smoked the real stuff, fellas.

Now the team is behind the eight ball with little time to prepare without them. No. 1-ranked LSU is hosting No. 19 Auburn and will be without their top defensive player in Mathieu, who has already forced about 30 turnovers in his 1.5 years in college.

Okay, maybe not that many, but he has forced four fumbles, recovered three of them and returned two for scores. On top of that, he has two interceptions, 42 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Yeah, he’s a stud—like potential No. 1 overall pick-like talent.

Without him, the deadly Tigers defense isn’t going to be nearly as effective. Simon doesn’t start, but he has 29 tackles and a pick on the young season. He will be missed.

The Auburn offense, led by Barrett Trotter, will take advantage of this and spread the ball all over the field. They average more than 26 points a game, and I think their balance can really disrupt a short-handed LSU defense. Auburn currently ranks 26th in the country, averaging 197 yards per game.

The loss of Ware may have even more of an impact for LSU.

Ware has 512 yards and six touchdowns, and has the burst through the tackles that has made him one of the better backs in the SEC.

The reason Les Miles has been able to get away with a two-QB system with Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson is because of the strong running game to keep the offense balanced.

The one-dimensional offense will struggle against an Auburn defense that is all too familiar with the LSU personnel.

This game has upset written all over it—all because a couple of players decided to get high on synthetic cannabis.

Talk about blowing it.
