The Colts’ top 10 plays from the 2023 season include one crucial play that the NFL overlooked….

The Indianapolis Colts season had multiple great moments, even if they fell just short of the playoffs and an AFC South championship.

The NFL posted the ten plays they believe to be the team’s best of the 2023 season.

And a few of them stand out above the rest as I look back on the season.

Taylor had a rocky 2023 season that began with his public trade request and the drama that came with it. Then, he opened the year on the PUP list, forcing him to miss the season’s first four weeks. And even after returning, there was some evident rust that he had to shake to get back to the star player the Colts have seen since drafting him in 2020. In the season’s final two weeks, that rust looked to be gone. And his stellar Week 18 performance is the proof needed to allow the Colts and their fans to have high expectations for Taylor’s upcoming 2024 season, where he will have the lion’s share of the team’s carries.
This play didn’t make the NFL’s list, but I think that’s a travesty. Not only did this touchdown throw from Anthony Richardson spearhead an incredible comeback from down 23-0, but it also was the single throw that I think should provide Colts fans the most optimism about their favorite team’s QB heading into next season. The way Richardson maneuvered a collapsed pocket to deliver a beautiful throw into a tight window to Alie-Cox, who was able to carry his momentum into the endzone. That type of precision and accuracy will be crucial for the growth the Colts are hoping to see Richardson have when he suits up Week 1 for his 2nd NFL season.
