Deshaun Watson used to be good. But since he started playing with the Cleveland Browns, he hasn’t played like his best days with the Houston Texans.

There’s still hope that Watson will be THAT quarterback again, but this could also be a good time for the Browns to sniff a potential QB option —

Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears. That idea is dead. recently from The Ringer’s Ben Solak:

EzoikoIf they can find a starter in Fields, they can avoid the backdoor of a Watson deal that turns out to be disastrously bad.

(Josh Dobbs, P.J. Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson were either in camp or started games last season.)

We know analytical-minded general manager Andrew Berry should always be interested in high-level play at the quarterback position.

And we know that new OC Ken Dorsey previously worked with a big physical QB runner in Buffalo with Josh Allen.

The New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers are the teams most linked to a quarterback trade for the Bruins.

But because of Watson’s ineffectiveness as a QB1 so far, Cleveland may resent their decision to mortgage the farm, so to speak, to acquire and sign him to a big extension.

The Bears have yet to decide Fields’ fate. . In the Windy City, but the closer we get to 2024

The closer we get to the NFL draft, the more it looks like Chicago will get their QB with the #1 overall pick, which means the former Ohio State Buckeyes star’s day at the clock.
