Liverpool suffered the biggest decline from third to seventh of the top 20 clubs after Deloitte saw its turnover fall slightly from £594.3m to £593.8m.
Deloitte believed the Reds’ decline in on-field performance was responsible for the club finishing fifth in the Premier League last season and losing in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Manchester United dropped one place to fifth despite having better sales than last season, while three-time champions City are now second despite being relegated from the Premier League despite that it recently recorded record sales, ahead of Real.
