Several Cleveland Browns players have said they will welcome Joe Flacco back next season.

But the team will welcome him with open arms next season. Flacco threw two costly pick-sixes in the Browns’ 45-14 loss to the Houston Texans in Saturday’s wild-card game.
The Browns were already struggling, but Flacco’s turnover was the lawnmower that ended Cleveland’s chances of a comeback.
“It’s always tough this time of year,” Flacco said after the loss. “Usually the further you go, the harder your heart beats.
It’s a lot of fun on the road, but it’s hard to cope when you’re lost.
“I don’t want to bring everybody into the locker room, but part of me wants to know how much everybody cares about each other, how much they care about each other and what kind of team it is.
I’m sad how it turned out and it’s hard to process right now.Flacco turns 39 this week, but he’s shown he still has something left in the tank with the Browns.
He joined the Browns’ practice squad on Nov. 20 and started his first job shortly after.

Deshaun Watson will return next season and become the starting quarterback.
But several Browns players have said they want Flacco to fill in for Watson again, even if that means serving as a backup.
“Flacco is a great quarterback and a great leader,” Browns RB Kareem Hunt said.
“Deshaun was able to learn a thing or two from him during his time as a player, so I’m excited. “

If he decides to return, veteran guard Joel Bitonio thinks he would be great for the locker room.
“I’m sure we’ll welcome him back with open arms,” Bitonio said. “He’s a really great guy in the locker room.
We loved having him here. I think you have Glue Man on the list and he will be one of them when he returns.

Part of Flacco’s success can be attributed to his strong relationship with head coach Kevin Stefanski.
The two seemed to mesh perfectly when making shots, and Flacco’s presence was like having another coach on the field for the Browns.
Stefanski admitted it wasn’t the ending they wanted, but he had a good conversation with Flacco when the season ended.
“Obviously we wish the result would have been different yesterday. You know,
I have a lot of respect for Joe and what he’s done,” Stefanski said.
“As you can imagine, I think Joe has been going through everything this season, and I’ve had a great meeting with him. “
He’s excited for the opportunity and will give it his best shot this season and we’ll see how things go.
”Now that Watson is established as Cleveland’s starter, Flacco can gauge the market to see if there is a case for him to compete for a starting role.
