How will Tottenham address their centre-back needs? We bring you the latest transfer rumors and Premier League news.

3 players leave Aston Villa, Villa are considering loan or permanent moves for Calum Chambers, Bertrand Traore and Tim Iroebnam in the winter transfer window, according to The Telegraph’s John Percy.

Traore and Chambers are big names who have joined the club in recent years and moved on to Chelsea and Arsenal respectively.

The former was bought from Lyon for 20 million euros and his theoretical peak is 28 years old.

Chambers is yet to record a single Premier League minute this season, while Traore and Iroebunam have both played up to 10 minutes in the league, albeit coming on as a substitute or two.

Aston Villa will need to free up space in their squad by getting rid of these three players who no longer feature for the first team as they look to set themselves up for a top four finish with significant signings in the winter.

Emergency at Arsenal According to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Arsenal are set to sign a new striker, defender and two midfielders before the start of the 2024/25 season.

The Gunners know they must continue to build their squad to stay top of the Premier League and have a strong finish to the 2023/24 season after recalling how they fared in the 2022/23 title race against Manchester City.

The margin for error is likely to be much smaller this year as Liverpool continue to deliver after a very active summer transfer window that included a complete overhaul of the midfield.

Arsenal have everything to win the Premier League, but they need some adjustments. The obvious problem is the lack of a proven goalscorer, but more useful would be creativity in midfield to support Martin Odegaard.

Declan Rice, meanwhile, has been a big addition to the centre, but the general sense of winning the ball and active development is still lacking where the champions should be.

Mokbel also says there are those at the club who believe a versatile man who fits the position should be a priority during the winter transfer window.

In a way, yes, but there are plenty of Arsenal fans who would turn a blind eye to signing another defender as the striker leaves a gap in the title race.

Tottenham will soon move to CBAccording to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, Tottenham want to complete a deal for the centre-back as quickly as possible, with the move expected to be completed on the first day of the January transfer window.

That window officially opened today, and with injuries to Mickey van der Ven and Christian Roemer, it could only be a matter of time before Tottenham sign a new centre-back.

With both centre-backs among the best players in the league, Tottenham fans will be desperate to sign a player of Jean-Clair Todibo’s caliber.

A simple winter upgrade might be more realistic, but any quality player would help the Spurs at this point.

They know that if they want to reach their potential as a Champions League team, they need to operate at CB.
