Aston Villa: Lenguet may have played his last game after lBurnley win.

flop Clement Lenglet could have played his last game for Aston Villa after the incident against Burnley.

Clement Lenglet may have played his last game for Aston Villa amid debate over his future at Villa Park after Unai Emery was substituted against Burnley.

The defender dragged Emery in the 62nd minute and tried to tackle Burnley striker Lyle Forster, but failed to make an impact on the game.

Fabrizio Romano (December 15) reported that Barcelona could bring Lenglet back to England on loan, while AC Milan have contacted the Spanish giants to inquire about his availability.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, Barcelona have the option of bringing the player back on loan and given the manager’s reaction to his performances, that deal could be done quickly.

BBC commentator Chris Wise said in the final BBC report (December 30 16:26) when the Frenchman was sent off:

“There are a lot of problems today, so Pau Torres is with him.”

In 62 minutes on the pitch, Lenglet’s only defensive effort was a ball he created.

He also won just 33% of his duels on the ground, showing how much Burnley suffered from Forster’s presence in attack.

[Bank Score]In his entire game, the quarterback won just two of five attempts and allowed nine possessions, completing 37 of 44 pass attempts when trying to play Emery-style from the back.

.The Frenchman’s career at Aston Villa got off to a slow start and things seem to be turning around, with Pau Torres returning from injury and Lenglet regaining his place in the team putting the nail in the coffin.

With AC Milan looming and Barcelona likely to trigger their withdrawal option, the 62nd-minute substitute at Villa Park could be the last time Villa fans see Lenglet in a burgundy shirt, and after this game he is unlikely to do it again.
