The Cleveland Browns are a different team after naming Joe Flacco their starting quarterback.
Sunday’s win was the Browns’ third straight loss and a historic day for Amari Cooper. When Flacco threw the ball to him, Cooper caught 11 passes for 265 receiving yards, a Browns record.
He also scored twice in Cleveland’s 36–22 win. Following his explosive performance, Cooper passed for 1,000 yards for the seventh time in his career and is currently tied for sixth in the league in receiving yards.
He has a fan following in New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
As the Browns and Jets prepare to battle this Thursday, Rodgers praised Cleveland’s approach and gave props to Flacco and Cooper.
“Joe Flacco has always been a great thrower of the deep ball and I’m excited for him,” Rodgers said on the Pat McAfee Show.
“Amari Cooper was amazing on Sunday. I’ve always been a fan.”Rodgers said he’s not friends with Flacco, but he’s glad to see another older QB prove his worth in the NFL.

The Browns’ season could have easily been derailed by an injury to Deshaun Watson. Instead, Cleveland played strong defense and Joe Flacco resurged to finish with a 10-5 record and advance to the playoffs.

They were undecided after losing Watson for the season and were looking for their best option, with PJ Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson big concerns.
Still, it’s undeniable that Flacco has played a role for the Browns thus far.
Of course, throwing to a receiver like Amari Cooper helps.In the four games Flacco started, Cooper had 25 receptions for 485 yards and three touchdowns.
It’s his third or fourth consecutive receiving touchdown this season and Cooper has accomplished it in four games.
The Browns have found a secret weapon in Joe Flacco, and Amari Cooper is thankful for it.
