Julian Edelman made a strong statement against the Browns.

Ever since the Cleveland Browns signed veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, they have looked like a different team.

Sure, the offense looked strong when Deshaun Watson was under center, but a season-ending injury gave Browns fans hope that the Super Bowl draft would end this year.

But according to college football analyst Lee Corso, Flacco appeared to say, “Not so fast, man,” as he stepped onto the field.

Despite playing twice as many games as any other Browns quarterback, Flacco’s numbers are far more impressive than those of Watson, PJ Walker or Dorian Thompson-Robinson.Through three games, Flacco is 77-133 for 939 yards, seven touchdowns, five interceptions (matching Watson’s totals) and has just 176 passing yards.

His numbers are good, but what brings him back into the conversation as a potential Super Bowl contender is how smooth and efficient the offense looks.

Former NFL running back and Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman said Flacco’s Browns reminded him of the Baltimore Ravens the year Flacco led them to a Super Bowl victory (via Pardon My Take on Twitter).

Edelman said Flacco needs to take care of the ball, be the game manager and hit the deep ball at times to help the Browns advance to the Super Bowl this year.

He also said it’s no surprise what Flacco has done this year. Especially considering what happened a few months ago.

If the Browns do make the playoffs and come out of the Super Bowl draft, there’s no question that Flacco will have a lot of responsibility.6
