Alabama Is Still Looking to Acquire More Offensive Linemen Because of the…..

The Alabama Crimson Tide are going to walk away with the consensus No. 2 overall recruiting class in the 2024 cycle.

Alabama brought in talent across the board but with just 23 signings (25 commits) the Tide is still looking to add talent.

Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban said that he’d particularly like to add more talent to the offensive line room.

Coach Eric Wolford signed three offensive line prospects in this 2024 cycle in Casey Poe, Joseph Ionata and William Sanders. The year prior Alabama brought in five lineman in its 2023 class. With the pending departure of JC Latham, Seth McLaughlin and Darrian Dalcourt it will be important to stay active looking for more lineman who can add depth to the future room.

“Yeah, well we think they have a lot of potential. They’re guys that, obviously that’s a developmental position so those guys are guys that we think have a lot of ability, we know a lot about them, we’ve had them in camp, we’re excited about having them here,” said Saban on Wednesday. “We think they can develop into good prospects and good players. I still think we’re kind of out there in the market looking for some more of those kinds of guys, offensive linemen. Just from a numbers standpoint and from a quality experience standpoint. We’re excited to have them and we’re still out there looking to try to add some people at that position.”

Alabama can add another Class of 2024 prospect to the room if Favour Edwin decides to join the class. The 3-star tackle has stretched out his recruitment as he’s been unsure of where to play his college football.

Additionally, Saban can look towards the transfer portal. He’s done it before in the offensive line room, bringing in Tyler Steen to play left tackle a few seasons ago.
