The Cleveland Browns won in the last minute.
Kicker Dustin Hopkins’ 34-yard field goal set a franchise record for most touchdowns in the final two minutes of regulation in a Week 15 win over the Chicago Bears, according to ESPN.
The 20-17 win moved the Browns to 9-5, further solidifying their wild card spot and giving coach Kevin Stefanski his first winning season of 2020.
Trailing 17-10 with 3:08 left in the game, Joe Flacco tied the game with a 51-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Amari Cooper.
The defense forced a three-and-out on the Bears’ next possession, giving the Browns a chance to win with less than two minutes left.
Flacco found David Njoku twice for 65 yards, setting up Hopkins for a Cleveland field goal attempt.
The Browns have won many of their games in waning moments, largely because of Hopkins’ legs.
The touchdowns came in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers, in Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens and in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Another last minute win in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. Kareem Hunt scored the touchdown with 15 seconds left in the game.
It’s been a special year for Cleveland, after four quarterback changes and numerous injuries to the team.
But the Browns are in full control of a playoff spot heading into the final three weeks of the season.
