Browns shut down QB PJ Walker ahead of Jaguars Clash.

The Cleveland Browns waived veteran QB PJ Walker.

The Cleveland Browns have waived quarterback PJ Walker ahead of Saturday’s big game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Waiving Walker makes the roster possible for the team to add Joe Flacco to the active roster.

Flacco was named to the practice squad for the second time Saturday and is scheduled to play against the Jaguars.

Walker was signed before the season to serve as the third quarterback on the Browns’ depth chart after the Joshua Dobbs trade.

But things quickly improved for Walker, who started more games and spent a lot of time backing up Deshaun Watson.

But Walker has done nothing to prove he can be the Browns’ solution at quarterback when their franchise player is out.

Walker struggled to hold onto the ball and failed to generate any offense.

Overall, Walker completed 48.6 percent of his passes for 674 yards, one touchdown and five interceptions.

If Walker clears waivers, he could be re-signed to the Browns’ practice squad.

The Browns have yet to name a starting quarterback for their game against the Jaguars.

The team is deciding between Flacco and rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson.“Both boys are training this week.

Both boys have trained well and I have confidence in both of them. But I’m not going to name a starter,” Browns manager Kevin Stefanski said.

“I think we’ll all know when the ball starts rolling.”Flacco made his starting debut on Dec. 3 against the Los Angeles Rams and gave the Browns their best quarterback game of the season.

Flacco completed 23 of 44 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown. His only mistake was selling expensively in the fourth quarter.

Another option is Thompson-Robinson, who was initially named the starter after Watson was ruled out for the season.

Thompson-Robinson cleared concussion protocol Friday and will be ready to face the Jaguars when his number is called.

Thompson-Robinson has started three games this season, and the Browns are 1-2 in those games.

As a rookie, he started briefly against the Baltimore Ravens on October 1 and threw three interceptions in a 28-3 loss. Overall, Thompson-Robinson has passed for 429 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions this season.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence calls the game time. The Jaguars are also stuck in a quarterback situation.

Trevor Lawrence suffered a badly sprained ankle in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals and was listed as questionable.

Training has been limited this week.”He feels good,” Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said Friday, Dec. 8.

“It moved a little bit [Thursday]. Look how it is today.

Base Trevor’s feelings on the opinions of the medical staff. If he can’t go, the Browns will send C.J. See Vitard.

He is 2-10 as a career starter and it all starts with the San Francisco 49ers.

He had a career-high 18 rebounds and 14 steals. The Browns are three-point favorites at home against the Jaguars heading into Sunday’s game.
