Van Dijk is ahead of the pack as fans accept ‘ugly’ victory.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, who scored the first goal, cheers the fans after the English Premier League match between Sheffield United and Liverpool FC at Bramall Lane. Liverpool won 2-0.

Virgil van Dijk received plenty of plaudits after a mixed performance in Liverpool’s two thrashings of Sheffield United, but at this time of year, wins are important.

Liverpool love to drop points at lower sides and a trip to Sheffield United has prompted some caution, but Van Dijk and Dominic Szoboszlay are adamant now is not the time to give up.

The trip to Bramall Lane was a far cry from the Liverpool of old, but the result mattered and we left with all three points and a clean sheet.

But the biggest concern was Alexis McAllister, who took a number of hard hits after going down awkwardly in the first half.

The knee ligaments were so severe that he could not stand more than 60 minutes. He finished the game with just 21 tackles and no injury issues.

Van Dyke, on the other hand, received a lot of praise after winning…

Virgil, another show where he returns to the top…Maka had a low score, but I’ll give it a 3 and move on…

“We worked hard to beat the worst team in our history, but another win and a clean sheet are the most important things.

Let’s hope we can do even better against Palace.” – Iver in the TIA comment.

“Winning when your performance is poor is a good sign.”

Nu-Metalfan 27 to the TIA comments.See, a win is a win. It’s December and the momentum of the results is what matters here.

Sometimes you have to win the hard way, and that was the case with Sheffield United.

They may be lazy but the Reds have done their job and now we’re on to Crystal Palace and we expect the same result.
