United were 3-2 down in the final five minutes of their game against Fulham at Anfield on Sunday before Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the winner after 88 minutes after Wataru Endo’s equaliser.

He scored his first goal in the league. This is a period that will determine what is possible for Liverpool in the second half of the season and Van Dijk has revealed what the squad will look like to ensure they are as close as possible to every team. 100% will come.

The action kicks off on Wednesday night with an away game against Sheffield United.

“[This stage] is something we’ve all accepted over the last few years, but as you know today was a difficult game and a difficult situation for both sides.

The next game is in Sheffield on Wednesday,” van Dijk said.

“You’re already looking ahead and making sure you’re doing the right thing.

In my case, I will get treatment tonight and complete recovery work tomorrow morning to be more careful.

“Then I have another recovery session tomorrow. The basics are to play, recover, sleep well, eat well and prepare for the next game.

It’s a tough process, but we can’t complain.

“I’m not complaining because we’re very privileged, but it takes a lot out of our personal lives and in some cases people forget.

But being mentally fresh is so important and that’s why it’s so difficult.

“We always seem to have a squad review meeting the day before the game but as I said the regime is already in place and we will do that tomorrow with Sheffield United in mind and we have a big meeting for that on Tuesday.“

And we are ready to go to Sheffield on Wednesday and face a tough game.

They want to respond because they suffered a big defeat on Saturday (5-0 at Burnley) but we want to show that we are constantly working.

“We made it difficult [against Fulham], but of course coming back with goals was a good sign, but we have to do better.

But we have to take positives from it because it’s not bad when we’re winning games like we are now.

Especially with the busy season starting now. So let’s stay positive and recover and prepare again in the next few days.

“With January signings Gravenburch and Gakpo arriving in the summer, Van Dijk added:

“Of course you can give them opinions, but if you watch us closely, we are always on the move, especially with a couple of midfielders working hard for us.

Fulham manager Marco Silva looks on before the Premier League match between Liverpool and Fulham at Anfield on December 3, 2023 in Liverpool, England.

“It’s the same for them. They have to bounce back and make sure they’re ready for whatever comes their way.” It will be no different than what they are used to.

Other than that, they will be very friendly and ready to play the game.

“I think we could have closed the game (earlier). Of course, we knew we were still playing a good team, but I think we were a little too sloppy in transition, but that wasn’t the case.” Someone who likes to see too much negativity.

“I think we know what we can improve and what we need to do in this game.

But someone said we’ve only won twice in our last six games against Fulham.

So it’s not a bad thing. We always win.

” Today is the time to take the positives and move forward.

“I’ve been here for a while and it’s important to keep your cool and I think we did that.

Wataru’s goal was a big one for all of us and the crowd got a few cheers and helped us keep the ball. click .

I hope it stays that way in the future.”Additional resources:
