In an attempt to sign a “very strong dribbler” for Klopp, Liverpool is “negotiating”

A new report claims that Liverpool is reportedly “negotiating” a move to recruit a “very strong dribbler” in 2024.

Much was made of the Reds’ midfield business during the summer, in what was one of the most momentous transfer windows of Jurgen Klopp’s career to date, as the manager entirely changed his team after a terrible 2022/23 season.

It was evident that Jordan Henderson and Fabinho had reached the end of their usefulness and were no longer able to cover as much territory as they once had. Additionally, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, and Naby Keita all left on free transfers. They were replaced by Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister, all of whom have had a beneficial influence

It appears like Klopp and FSG may still be trying to bolster the team’s midfield options in the upcoming transfer window, with a real defensive midfielder a potential target, despite the addition of four major names. While Nice enforcer Khephren Thuram has been considered a goal for the Reds since the summer, Fluminense star Andre has been linked to a move to Liverpool on multiple occasions.

Even if Thiago’s injuries have stopped him from playing at all in the season, a new face might be required to make up for his loss with Liverpool as his contract expires at the end of the current campaign. It is unclear if another midfielder will arrive in January or if the team will wait until next summer

According to the source, Nice’s asking price of €35–40 million (£29.9–34.2 million) would not deter the Reds from completing the transfer of the 22-year-old, as rival suitor Juventus will have to sell players to raise the necessary funds.

Thuram and Liverpool are the subject of persistent reports, indicating that the Merseysiders consider him a viable alternative to supplement the midfield with even more quality.

The Reds recruitment target has played in 12 Ligue 1 games so far this season, completing 89.2% of his passes while averaging 1.3 crucial passes per contest. Since he isn’t a pure No. 6, Klopp’s team would still need to have a player more akin to Fabinho at his best to address that problem.
