Trent Alexander-Arnold’s remarks following Man City’s draw have him “facing possible disciplinary action.”

According to a source, Trent Alexander-Arnold, a star for Liverpool, may face disciplinary action from the FA for remarks he made following his team’s 1-1 tie with Manchester City.

The Reds defender won player of the match from Sky Sports when he equalized in the second half with a low driven goal from 20 yards past Ederson.

Although the outcome did move Liverpool down to third place, most people felt that Jurgen Klopp’s squad had gained a point against the team that may wind up being their title challengers this season.

In celebration of his goal, Alexander-Arnold “shushed” the City fans. After the game, when questioned why he did it, all he could say was that it was “funny.”

The Sun, however, claims that the Liverpool defender might face consequences from the FA due to his admission that he purposefully staged the celebration in front of City supporters.

Per the rules of the game, if a player is discovered to have been ‘gesturing or acting in a provocative, derisory or inflammatory fashion’ towards members of the crowd, they will be dealt a yellow card.

It’s unclear whether referee Chris Kavanagh noticed the Liverpool defender celebrate, but he did not book him for it.

The Sun adds, though, that if the FA took any action, Alexander-Arnold would probably be warned about his future behavior and that there were no specific pleas for sanctions made after the incident occurred in real time.

In his post-match interview with Sky Sports, the 25-year-old discussed the game itself, saying, “There have been numerous occasions when we have played a lot better against City and lost the game. To be honest, it’s a positive outcome for us that you came here and understood the purpose.

As a team, we really needed it. It engenders the mindset that, even when we struggle against the league leaders and defending champions, you can still win a point if you can’t play well enough.
