Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders THANKSGIVING: Live Game Updates

The Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Commanders, who are moving up in the NFL Power Rankings, on Thanksgiving.

FRISCO – The Dallas Cowboys host the Commanders in one of the NFL’s oldest traditions, Thanksgiving Day Football.

Dallas has only missed two Thanksgiving games since 1966, 1975 and 1977.

This year, the Turkey Day game takes on added significance as the Cowboys take on division rival Washington for the 11th time in Thanksgiving Day history.

Dallas is 8-2 in previous games, and the last time the Washington team earned a win was a 41-16 loss in 2020 that completed the Cowboys’ season sweep.

This season, the two teams are going in noticeably different directions.

Dallas returned to sixth place in ESPN’s NFL Power Rankings after dismantling the Carolina Panthers 33-10 in Week 12.

Coach Mike McCarthy set the Cowboys up for a third straight postseason appearance, something Dallas had failed to accomplish since mid 90s. .

The Commanders fell three spots to No. 23 in the ESPN rankings after a 31-19 loss to the 3-8 New York Giants, who completed their season sweep of Washington.

Two of New York’s three wins this year have come at the expense of the Commanders.

Washington has lost home games to two struggling teams in the Giants and Bears, and Ron Rivera’s coaching job is red hot.

The question in Washington is more “when” than “if” after new owner Josh Harris said he wanted to evaluate the staff himself after previous owner Daniel Snyder was out of the picture.

But it’s doubtful he saw the season going that badly for his new team.
