Greg Newsome II, Denzel Ward and Kareem Hunt are among those serving Thanksgiving meals at Feed the Need

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Greg Newsome II, Kareem Hunt and Denzel Ward were among the Browns players and other community leaders who served free Thanksgiving meals to hundreds of people in need Tuesday during the 11th annual Feed the Need at Cleveland City Hall.

“I’m really happy to play for my hometown again and be able to contribute to Feed the Need and just help others,” Kareem Hunt told cleveland.com at the end.

“I love helping people, I love being able to give back to the community, especially because I’m from here. It’s so nice to see all the smiles on these people’s faces.”

With the Browns at 7-3 and a legitimate chance to make the playoffs for the first time since 2020, the 4,000 turkey dinners served Wednesday tasted even better than usual.

“It means a lot, especially because they look up to us, and it’s even better when we win,” Hunt said.

“We just have to keep going, but I love seeing the smiles on the faces of the kids and the adults. That’s wonderful.”

Others who served those in need included Browns wide receiver David Bell, former Browns Bernie Kosar and Josh Cribbs and coaching legend Jim Tressel.

“TownHall has been home to Feed The Need for a decade and is proud to continue supporting the local community,” said TownHall owner Bobby George. “This event is the highlight of our year.”

Since 2013, more than 40,000 meals have been served by Jim Brown, Bernie Kosar, Joe Thomas, Joe Haden, TJ Ward, Dwayne Wade, Joel Bitonio, Myles Garrett, Nick Chubb, Denzel Ward, Baker Mayfield and the champion UFC Stipe Miocic.

As always, TownHall, which also collected lovingly worn hats, coats and mittens during Feed the Need, will collect and match donations to further support St.

Augustine’s ongoing efforts to feed the hungry. 100% of donations go directly to St. Augustine, which feeds the community year-round.

“Each year, we strive to make this event more impactful. We accomplish this through our partnerships with local homeless shelters, particularly St. Augustine,” says George.
