Sad news from Aston villa…

Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings breaks silence on injury with update promise

Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings has sent a message for the first time since reacting to his injury in the hours after it occurred.

The defender faces a long spell on the sidelines. He is unlikely to feature again this season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the 5-1 defeat to Newcastle United on the opening day of the campaign.

Mings, meanwhile, is continuing his rehabilitation. Posting on his Instagram story he posted a message reading “Grateful for all of your support. I’ll share an update with you all later today.”

On August 14, just after his injury, Mings posted on X, (formerly Twitter): “I don’t even know where to start but to say thank you for all of your messages of support Villa fans. From the day I came here on loan I’ve given everything on the pitch, I’ll now give everything off the pitch to come back even better, whilst supporting the team

“To the players, fans & staff connected to @NUFC I also want to say thank you. The applause, the messages & the medical support I received on the day was really appreciated.”

He also posted a simple message on Instagram which read: “I’ve come back before & I’ll come back again …” Mings came back from the same injury when he played for Bournemouth in 2015.
