Browns, AFC Sunday morning injury updates

Besides the obvious injury to QB Deshaun Watson (and Joe Burrow), it seems likely that injuries will play a role in today’s AFC North matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers.

They’re not the only ones with a slew of injuries across the AFC that could impact the playoff race.

The Browns and Steelers combined to cut five players, including three of the four starting safeties between the two.

Two of the three questionable players were activated from injured reserve on Saturday, a clear sign that they will play.

That leaves big OL Dawand Jones as the only player in the air today. Unless something changes, Jones is good to go:

With Dorian Thompson-Robinson starting, Jones’ return to the right will be helpful. Geron Christian played well on the left last week, but overall he was untested.

We receive official notification of all questionable players when inactivity reports appear 90 minutes before the match.

A few other players who could impact the AFC’s playoff run also received updates from Saturday night into Sunday morning:

Garrett Wilson of the Jets plays

Keenan Allen Chargers play

Texan Noah Brown is probably out

Cardinal Michael Wilson (vs. Texans) is likely out

Alexander Mattison plays the Vikings (plays the Broncos).

The Dolphins re-signed Robbie Chosen, who was promoted this week

The Dolphins activated De’Vone Acane, who played this week

While many believe the Browns’ Super Bowl ambitions are over, they are clearly in the AFC playoffs, which means there will be plenty of other interesting games beyond theirs.

The good news for Cleveland right now is that they are not in the hunt for a playoff spot. Instead, the Browns are near the top of the AFC entering Week 11.
