Chargers News: Bolts Safety Has High Praise for Hall Of Fame Defensive Line Teammates

The defense has been playing lights out of late.

Entering the season, the Los Angeles Chargers were supposed to have gotten rid of the issues that plagued them a year ago.

They brought in a new offensive coordinator to help with any issues there, and they were hopeful for more health on the defensive side of the ball.

LA has some of the better players in the league on their defense, but they haven’t been able to consistently put together solid performances. But over the last few games for the Bolts, the defense has looked great and it has helped them get back to a .500 record.

The defense helped LA win their game against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, and they dominated New York. They sacked Jets quarterback Zach Wilson eight times, and they made life tough on him all game long.

Chargers safety Alohi Gilman praised some of his defensive teammates for their effort in the game. Having a strong pash rusher does make things easier for the secondary, and puts less pressure on them as well.

“Those guys are beasts out there. Makes me smile, makes my job easier back there when you got guys like that up front. Super grateful to be a part of this team, a part of them, being a part of this. A bunch of Hall of Famers up front.”

Chargers News: Joey Bosa Unpacks LA’s Big Defensive Night Vs Jets

Having guys like Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa up front gives the Chargers a true pass-rushing threat, and it creates havoc for opposing teams. They have been performing at a high level the last few weeks, helping LA find their identity.

Head coach Brandon Staley chimed in about his guys as well and said that LA is finally healthy, so we are seeing strong results.

“Just when we’re healthy that’s how they’ll rush,” Chargers Head Coach Brandon Staley said after the game. “They just haven’t been healthy together for very long, but when they’ve been healthy together, that’s how they’ve played.”

if the Chargers can keep up this level of defense, they will be one tough team to deal with. The issue for them has been consistency, so hopefully, for their sake, they take this and learn from it moving forward.Bolts Safety
