‘He was so good’: Virgil van Dijk says the 20-year-old Liverpool youngster really impressed him

Liverpool have done a great job of bringing in some of their young players in recent years.

The likes of Harvey Elliott and Curtis

Jones have become key members of the Liverpool squad over the last couple of seasons, and Jarrell Quansah has become quite an important player for the Reds this year.

 

The young central defender has already played a lot this season and is improving every week.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Virgil van Dijk spoke about the 20-year-old’s development and how much of an impression he has made on him so far this season. 

 He said he was “very good” on his Premier League debut earlier this season.

 Van Dijk impressed by Quansah the  Liverpool captain spoke about the young man. “I’m the captain now, so I tried to help him.

” I was very proud of the way he performed throughout the match and how solid he was.

It takes you back to where you were when you were younger, what advice you wish you had received, and how people would have responded to it.

He was so good,” Van Dijk said ,Perfect  mentor Quansah couldn’task for a better mentor than Van Dijk at Liverpool.

Not only is the Dutchman one of the best centre-backs of this generation, but he is also one of the best leaders we have seen in the game and it looks like he has really captivated the 20-year-old.

Quansah won’t go far wrong in sticking with Van Dijk and the Dutchman could be the key to helping the young player realize his potential in the years to come.

Who knows? Van Dijk could coach his possible replacement for Liverpool here.At just 20 years old, this young man has the world at his feet and it will be exciting to see where he goes from here.
