Spurs: Tottenham were ready to offer the “wizard” eight times his salary to join them

The Lilywhites are apparently after him because of Ange.

Tottenham Hostpur are reportedly willing to offer a ‘wizard’ of a player around eight times his current salary to join Ange Postecoglou at Spurs.

The spores form under PostecoglouThe north Londoners are having one of their best starts to a season under Postecoglou and their most successful since the 1960/1961 season.

Spurs even won the domestic double that year, sparking widespread enthusiasm at the dramatic turnaround in their fortunes since the arrival of new chairman-manager Daniel Levy from Celtic in June.

The Australian surprised everyone. Postecoglou also recently praised his players in the media for wanting to change the ‘destiny’ of their club.”I don’t think it’s fair to make comparisons with last season and talk about what happened then.

It’s  all about the players, the way they accepted what we’re trying to do.””We are very united as a group, and you can see it because not only are we winning matches, but apart from the football, which has been good, the resilience we have shown has been great.

The players want to change the fortunes of this club and it is what they’re trying to do on the field.”Tottenham’s electric form has also received praise from some pundits, including a former Arsenal striker and Gunners legend, who said the “underrated” Postecoglou had shocked everyone.

“He is underrated,” Ian Wright recently told Premier League Productions.“It’s an underrated effort that he’s making right now. Big fans of Ange Postecoglou. I remember at the beginning people said that “it must start well”.

With the players he has, you want them to do well and win some games and things like that. But I didn’t expect him to end up in the grove he’s in now so quickly.

With the Postecoglou hype in full swing, there are still suggestions that Tottenham could look to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.

The lack of depth behind in-form centre-back duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven has led to reports that players such as Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson, Juventus star Gleison Bremer, Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly and Bayer Leverkusen star Edmond Tapsoba would be considered new defense options.

Brentford’sIvan Toney has been named as a possible target to replace star striker Harry Kane in 2024, with Postecogolou also reportedly interested in signing a replacement for Dejan Kulusevski.

Players such as Al Ittihad winger Jota and Galatasaray star Kerem Akturkoglu have been linked, and a new report out of Turkey provides news on the latter.

Kerem  Akturkoglu transfer update Sporshares an update on Akturkoglu’s transfer and suggests Spurs could now be prepared to offer the midfielder eight times his £5,000-a-week wages to join Postecoglou in north London.

This comes after the “magician”, as stated in the report, rejected the offer of a new contract with his current club.

It is believed there could be an offer from Tottenham to Akturkoglu of around £40,000 a week, which would significantly improve his current terms.

The 24-year-old, who currently plays alongside former Lilywhites defender Davinson Sánchez in the Turkish Super Lig, has scored three goals and assisted a further four in the top flight this season alone.

However, Tottenham are not alone in admiring Akturkoglu as West Ham may also consider offering the Turkish international a huge pay rise.
