Aston Villa have released a statement ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against West Ham (4.30pm).

The statement read: “Aston Villa strongly condemns the atrocious and brutal acts of violence against innocent people in Israel and Gaza and is shocked and saddened by the escalation of the crisis in the region.

“We will join our club colleagues in wearing black armbands and observing a minute’s silence before our home game against West Ham on Sunday, as football remembers all the lives lost in recent days.

“Following consultation with the Premier League and other stakeholders, supporters are informed that it is not permitted to bring Israeli or Palestinian flags or other materials into Villa Park.

It is the club’s primary responsibility to ensure that supporters can enjoy football in a safe environment.”

“The current view of security experts is that allowing Israeli or Palestinianr symbols could lead to potential flashpoints or be seen as provocative to certain elements of our communities.

We would appreciate everyone’s cooperation on this matter.

Galatasaray are reportedly working on signing Aston Villa star Youri Tielemans in January.

The 26-year-old has had a difficult start to life at B6 after signing on a free transfer in the summer. Despite 13 appearances in all competitions, Tielemans is yet to make his first league start for Unai Emery.

According to the Turkish channel Fotomac, Galatasaray was aware of the situation. It appears that the club has contacted a representative of Tielemans.

Furthermore, the Turkish team is said to have started signing the Belgium international after the initial contact.

Elsewhere, Fanatik claims Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk is an admirer of Tielemans and is “pushing to sign the midfielder”.
However, the deal would likely involve a loan.

Tielemans had previously spoken about the lack of playing time: “The situation is not pleasant.

I told the manager that I had come to Villa to play.” “He understands me, but at the moment he prefers to play with the two midfielders from last season.

He told me that there would be a series of matches soon and that I would have more playing time.
