Journalist alleges clubs are ‘envious’ of Spurs for bringing in a 22-year-old this season – Spurs Web – Tottenham Hotspur Football

After receiving his big move as a result of a strong campaign for Wolfsburg, Van de Ven was comparatively unknown when he joined Spurs.

Given his lack of experience at the highest level, most Tottenham supporters would have predicted the 22-year-old would have a steep learning curve in the Premier League, but so far, his transition has been seamless.

Van de Ven is a perfect fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system because of his outstanding poise and technical ability.

The center-back was reportedly also on Liverpool’s radar this summer, and the Reds even contacted the player’s entourage, according to a TEAMtalk report from earlier this month.

Spurs allegedly approached the former Wolfsburg player, who allegedly told his entourage to expedite the deal because the Merseysiders were prioritizing other signings.

On September 2, 2023, at Turf Moor in Burnley, England, Tottenham Hotspur’s Micky van de Ven played for his team during a Premier League match between Burnley FC and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Brown, other teams are now regretting their decision to pass up on the talented young defender.

In regards to Van De Ven, the journalist said to GiveMeSport: “I think it took him a couple of weeks to get used to the pace of it, but he’s now up to speed and looks so a really good signing.

He fit right in and performed admirably.

He appears to be gaining strength, and I am sure that many people have been envious of him over the past few weeks.

The most important thing to note in this situation, in my opinion, is that Spurs looked at a large number of center backs over the summer.

He was only one of them, so I believe it was the right move to bring him in first.

Because it’s difficult to imagine any other player on their list having quite the impact that he has.

“. While Van de Ven was discovered by Tottenham’s recruitment team, I believe Postecoglou deserves the majority of the credit for giving the young player confidence and enabling him to play fearlessly.

I don’t think players like Van de Ven and Udogie would have started out as quickly under a coach like Antonio Conte because they appeared to be under a lot of pressure last season.
