How is Mohamed Salah’s salary at Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah signed a three-year contract extension with Liverpool in July 2022.The 31-year-old has been Liverpool’s top scorer in each of his six seasons on Merseyside.

Salahis the highest paid player in Liverpool FC historyBut the name that rang in the ears of the curious scout was Sherif.

Ayoung, spindly left-hander had been brought in to make up the numbers, but he was beyond the focus of the process and everyone else involved.

There is no reward for guessing his name.

A decade and a half after his accidental discovery, Mohamed Salah has established himself as one of the most devastating wingers in world football – a reputation that has earned him a staggering salary at Liverpool.

Here’severything you need to know about Salah’s salary, which explains why he has been so unimpressed by Liverpool’s repeated rejection of any approach to the Saudi Pro League and the riches that come with it.

BillyLiddell is one of four players to have scored more goals for Liverpool than Salah.

In1960, his final year as a professional, Liddell was paid £16 and two shillings a week, the equivalent of just over £300 today.

Salah’scurrent reward lies in another galaxy.

In a study at Harvard Business School, Salah’s lawyer Ramy Abbas Issa described the negotiation process behind his client’s contract extension with Liverpool into the summer of 2022.

“If we find a way to convince Liverpool to accept the salary we have in mind and if Mohamed plays at the level he has achieved in recent seasons…

“Abbassaid, as quoted by The Guardian, “We prudently expect that the total amount that Mohamed and the image rights companies will receive over the next few years from both his gaming contract and his image rights contracts will be between €54 million (£46.8 million) and €62 million (£53.7 million) per year.

“If you take into account all of Salah’s sponsorship and performance bonuses – which have been the main sticking point in the lengthy 2022 negotiations – the 31-year-old could take home more than £1 million a week.

Salahwill be able to count on this salary until his contract expires in 2025.

Not all players are as vocal as Salah’s confidant Abbas when it comes to their client’s wages, especially when it comes to the complex realm of image rights and match bonuses.

Bestestimates suggest Virgil van Dijk is the highest earning player on Merseyside after Salah, with the Liverpool club captain likely to earn a basic weekly salary of £220,000 (according to Capology).

Thiago Alcantara is the only other Liverpool player to earn £200,000 or more per week.

UnlikeSalah, who rarely misses a match, Thiago collected many of his pay slips in the treatment room.

Theformer Barcelona and Bayern Munich midfielder is yet to start more than 20 Premier League games in a season and has not played at all this season.

Salah’ssalary not only puts him at the top of the earning list in the current dressing room, but it also places him above every other player who has already passed through the club’s doors.

Accordingto Abbas, Salah’s contract is “the most valuable contract in Liverpool’s history”.

But it’s worth it.

YetSalah falls into the same salary category as Pep Guardiola’s superstars.

Oneof the countless records broken by Erling Haaland last season was Salah’s 32 goals in a single season in the Premier League.

City’spainfully productive striker has scored 36 points in the English top flight alone.

But the contract Haaland signed in 2022 was littered with bonuses that would have been paid out without his glut of goals, according to the Daily Mail.

LastOctober, it was reported that Haaland earned around £865,000 per week, more than double an estimated base salary of £375,000 per week.

KevinDe Bruyne, who scored 11 goals for Haaland last season, is said to have the highest salary in the Premier League, excluding bonuses.

DeBruyne’s mammoth £400,000 weekly win is almost equivalent to newly promoted Luton Town’s entire wage bill (£457,500).

Last season, Klopp complained that Liverpool “can’t act like City”.

“It is not possible.

“That’s not possible,” he said angrily.

“They have the best team in the world and the best striker on the market.

Nomatter what it costs, do it.

“Well, Liverpool didn’t really save much money by agreeing to Salah’s contract extension.
