The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Dominik Szoboszlai once again excelled as Liverpool defeated West Ham 3-1 at Anfield in the Premier League. Jürgen Klopp was proven correct.

ANFIELD, LIVERPOOL // As is becoming a habit, Liverpool won again by three goals to one.
It was the third consecutive match in which the Reds won 3-1, this time after goals from Mohamed Salah, Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota. After another slow start, it was Liverpool who ultimately proved the more dominant.
West Ham will at least blow up some big missed opportunities, but Liverpool will have at least as many to look back on and think should have been taken.
Despite a difficult start to the season, Liverpool have now scored sixteen points out of a possible eighteen, behind only Manchester City. Jürgen Klopp’s team is achieving results quietly, without creating too much fuss.
Here are the three moments Liverpool.com picked up the Reds’ win at Anfield against West Ham, with Klopp’s midfield demonstrating once again how different it is to last season’s versionsCurtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister were excellent in Liverpool’s midfield, but Dominik Szoboszlai was ahead of both of them in terms of performances.
The Hungarian was fantastic: he played another 90 minutes, had a passing accuracy of 93%, created four chances for his teammates and navigated the defensive area with zeal.
Liverpool’smidfielders in more advanced roles need to do at least a little of everything and Szoboszlai can certainly do that.
He runs as much and as fast as anyone, but also easily creates scoring opportunities for his team. Some of his balls forward into the Liverpool forwards were effortlessly sublime.
He has the kind of creative range of Kevin De Bruyne, but it’s not a perfect comparison; rather, he is the Reds’ version, perfectly suited to their style of play. His technique, especially on long passes, is more similar to that of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Although Liverpool are yet to see the full extent of his abilities, the glimpses of him have been exciting and some of his quick moves and tricks have demonstrated his current confidence.
If that’s the case after a handful of games, his ceiling must undoubtedly be through the roof.

The Liverpool home shirt for the 2023/2024 season pays homage to Bill Shankly and the legendary Reds manager’s final season at Anfield. The Nike T-Shirt has a bright red design with a striking white contrast on the color and cuffs.
Virgilvan Dijk and Joël Matip also deserve a lot of praise. It was a surprise that Ibrahima Konaté did not start, but Matip easily defeated Michail Antonio.
Jürgen Klopp made a bold move, but he was more than right to do so; it turned out to be a masterstroke.In the meantime, maybe Antonio should stick to podcasting. He hardly took a liking to it after his bold claims earlier this week. It’s fair to say that Liverpool got off to a slow start again.
It didn’t cost much and the Reds didn’t fall behind like before, but Alisson Becker was a big part of the reason. The Brazilian made a number of top-notch saves or saves which facilitated his positioning.
Jarrod Bowen scored a great header, but had to be perfectly positioned to beat it.
His mistake in the second half proved costly.Liverpool dominated the second half and took control, but the start of the match is clearly an area for improvement.
However, the end result was once again a victory.
Although he can laugh about it now, Núñez should have scored earlier in the match before hitting a great shot.
He deserves credit for the goal he scored, but he missed a much easier chance early in the competition.It should have been posted online.
Yes, it’s a positive thing that Liverpool continue to create chances (statistically seven “big chances” to West Ham’s three, even without Trent Alexander-Arnold on the pitch), but Núñez’s full strength is not visible that when he takes advantage of these opportunities in addition to the most difficult that he has scored.
It wasn’t “ugly” because Liverpool won and still scored, but Núñez has more to offer in that regard. Like anything else, it should be an exciting prospect.
