Jurgen Klopp has described one of his big-money signings as “very good” in training.

Speaking before the match against West Ham, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan striker made a good impact when he was called up this season.

He was instrumental in Wolves’ home win and scored a brilliant brace at Newcastle a few weeks ago.

And speaking of Nunez: Klopp admitted that the striker has trained excellently this year.

Jurgen Klopp praises Darwin Nunez for his performance in training Before the match against the Hammers, Klopp spoke to the press about some of his players.

And after praising Jarrell Quansah, Klopp moved on to Nunez and admitted that the striker is currently playing with real confidence in training.

He IS good, very good.

He’s in a great place, having a lot of fun and doing well. As an attacker you only have problems if you don’t have a chance.

He had chances, chances and obviously it wasn’t that long ago that he scored the two most incredible goals I’ve ever seen against Newcastle, it was absolutely crazy.

He played a great game against Aston Villa, then there was the international break, he had a bit of muscle problems – he said he was fine, but obviously we read what [the coach of ‘Uruguay Marcelo] Bielsa, then he also made very intense away games so I decided “We didn’t start him [at Molineux], but he came in and had a huge impact on the game,” Klopp said.“So he’s in a good moment, you can see it in training.

At that moment it is not important whether he scores or not: for an attacker it is important that in these moments in which he does not score but plays well, you understand it well and then you move forward, then everything will settle down.

“Nunez hopes to win this weekend and continue his good form.

RTK’s opinion: the big season is upon us There is definitely something about Darwin Nunez this season that bodes well for Liverpool.

He seems to be a little more rounded in some of his play up top and while the rawness is still evident in his game, he showed Newcastle just how good he can be with that certain composure.

Nunez could have a big season here, and if he continues to play well and score goals, a title challenge may not be out of the question.
