Pep Guardiola’s comments on Man City’s EPL rivals will leave Liverpool fans speechless

Pep Guardiola and Liverpool have been in direct and intense competition with each other for several years, but Reds fans will laugh at the Manchester City manager’s assessment of their Premier League rivals.

The Spaniard expressed his assessment of the clubs that appear best placed to challenge his team in their bid for a fourth consecutive top-flight title.

He has chosen two teams that could have the resources to fight for glory in 2023/2024.

The 52-year-old said: ‘You know how good Arsenal are. Yesterday I saw them at Goodison Park.

They are exceptional. Even in Liverpool the mentality remains the same.”

As if that wasn’t enough for Reds fans, Guardiola added the bonus of literally mocking another Premier League rival.

Asked the City manager at today’s press conference, Manchester United initially chuckled before adding (via football.london): “Well, they haven’t started.

They didn’t start as they expect like Chelsea, but always… Manchester United are always with Chelsea, sooner or later they will pick up the pace.’

Despite Guardiola’s best efforts to point out how Erik ten Hag’s side could still find a ‘rhythm’, it’s hard to ignore no instinctive laugh at the start, which in turn could rightly amuse many Liverpool fans!

Liverpool keen to sign Jarrod Bowen from West Ham

According to 90Min, Bowen is a player Liverpool admire and they would be happy to bring him to Anfield if circumstances allow.

Having cost West Ham just £22m, Bowen is now expected to be worth at least £60m to any club willing to buy him.

Furthermore, there is a problem for Liverpool with West Ham, who would like to tie Bowen to a new contract.

The English striker’s current contract expires in 2025 and the Hammers want to protect their investment.

Bowen is not known to cause problems for West Ham in his current form.

But since Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Bowen, he might want to wait and see what happens with Salah.

When it comes to a player who could step straight into the starting XI and replace Mo Salah,

Jarrod Bowen is certainly one of the names that comes to mind.
Bowen excelled at West Ham and if Liverpool were to manage to sign him, they know he would need no time to settle in, which is a huge bonus in itself.

The time will come for Liverpool to replace Salah in the near future. Whether they ultimately choose Bowen remains to be seen.
But on paper, he has a lot to offer the Reds.
