Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham Hotspur have a youngster who could thrive

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is enthusiastic about Brennan Johnson.

Brennan Johnson joined Tottenham Hotspur from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.

Johnson is a very versatile offensive player who can operate on the front line.

The 22-year-old Welsh international is adept at playing wide and is also very good at playing centrally as a centre-forward.

Johnson has played 41 Premier League games so far in his career. The forward scored eight goals and provided three assists in those matches.

Ange Postecoglou on Tottenham Hotspur’s summer contracts with Brennan Johnson

Postecoglou said of Johnson, as quoted in Football.London: “It’s great to have him.

He has a good profile for us – similar to the other guys we have brought in – in that he is young but has already had some good experiences.

“The footballing qualities that he brings fit very well with what we want to do.

“He has energy, he has speed, he can push very well, he is a wide player but he can score goals. From that point of view, it ticks all the boxes.

“When I look at his career, he’s been at [Nottingham] Forest since he was a kid. It’s his football club but he made the decision to go there now and challenge himself.

“I think he fits very well into our club. He had a few sessions with the boys. This group has really managed to absorb all the new players arriving.

“I think he’s comfortable and we can’t wait to get him in action.”

Brennan Johnson could thrive under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham

In our opinion, Brennan Johnson could be a star for Tottenham Hotspur in the coming years under head coach Ange Postecoglou.

The 22-year-old is a very good player and playing for a big club like Tottenham will make the Wales international even better.

Johnson is a dynamic player who will make Tottenham stronger and more threatening in attack.

Spurs are targeting a top-four finish in the Premier League table this season. Johnson will play his part in this research.
