One of five Premier League clubs interested in PSV Eindhoven forward Johan Bakayoko, according to Football Insider, Liverpool has already started doing its “due diligence” on a possible January transfer.

In August, the Reds were speculatively linked with a transfer for Bakayoko, but they decided against it because Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez are all already at Anfield.

The Reds may make a move for the Belgian international in the beginning of the year, according to Football Insider, as Al-Ittihad steps up its charm offensive in an effort to lure Salah to the Saudi Pro League in 2024.

The 24-year-old has a deal at the Philips Arena through 2026 despite nearly joining Brentford last month.

Eljif Elmas was formerly a target for Liverpool

Liverpool was prepared to pursue a £25 million transfer for Napoli midfielder Eljif Elmas before finalizing a deadline-day deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Gravenberch.

According to Corriere dello Sport, an Italian daily, the Reds were reportedly interested in the 23-year-old midfielder who signed from Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce in 2019.

Elmas played 36 times in Serie A last season as the Azzurri won their first championship since 1990, however it is rumored that Napoli were unwilling to approve a transfer for Elmas.

Tottenham beat Liverpool to the center-back spot.

Liverpool was one of several teams interested in a transfer for Hajduk Split defender Luka Vuskovic, according to the Evening Standard.

The 16-year-old defender reportedly had attention from Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Paris Saint-Germain, but is now expected to sign with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Evening Standard reports that Vuskovic and the Lillwhites have reached a personal agreement in advance of a move in the summer of 2025 that is expected to cost Tottenham £12 million.
