Burnley: Kompany rejects PL candidates for exciting signing out of the window

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany is close to signing a young star outside the transfer window.

Burnley’s postponed match against Luton Town has been moved to October 3, between matches against Newcastle United and Chelsea.

Despite the transfer window being closed, Burnley are strengthening their options before the season continues next weekend.

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has reportedly fended off competition from several Premier League sides and is closing in on bringing a teenage starlet to Turf Moor.

What’s the latest news on Burnley? The Clarets are bottom of the Premier League without a single point in their first three games and have conceded eleven goals so far, creating the most goals conceded by any team in the English top flight.

Kompany, quoted by The Burnley Express, is convinced that the solutions to the Clarets’ problems can be found at the heart of their rearguard, as he stated in an interview:

“It’s solvable, there are solutions and habits that we have in our game and that all we have to do is restore to prevent these moments from happening. But we play against good teams and those players don’t need many opportunities to score.

The most important things to me when reviewing a game are: can things be fixed? In one of the first matches there is a goal by Haaland, can it be remedied? Maybe not that. But there are other things: is it possible to train and repair it? »

Additionally, Burnley’s match against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road in August, previously postponed, has now been postponed and will be played on Tuesday, October 3 between the fixtures against Newcastle United and Chelsea.

According to The Athletic, Burnley are evaluating AS Monaco winger Krepin Diatta and are interested in bringing the 24-year-old to Turf Moor.

According to Transfermarkt, Diatta scored eight goals and provided six assists during his time in Ligue 1; But nothing came of it and he will now stay with his current employer.

Who could Burnley sign despite the transfer window closing? According to TEAMtalk, Burnley have made a breakthrough by negotiating a deal with Scottish Premiership club St Mirren to sign talented young centre-back Murray Campbell, who is seen as a “potential future star” at Turf Moor, subject to a international authorization.

Interest in Campbell has increased recently and Burnley have reportedly beaten Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace to bring the 17-year-old to England.

Born in 2006, Campbell won five caps for the Scotland Under-18 team and was also courted by Sky Bet Championship side Leicester City, according to The Daily Record.

What now for Burnley?
According to Nettavisen via Sport Witness, in an interview during his international tenure, new summer signing Sander Berge spoke enthusiastically about what it was like for him working under former Anderlecht manager Kompany, explaining:

“It’s is an extreme change in everyday life. He is very detailed and borders on an advanced football player. Open your eyes in a whole new way.

Then he added: “Here you look for perfection in the game and work on every little detail. It’s an advantage to work with a coach who was captain under Pep and watches football that way.”

Meanwhile, quoted by Hull Live, Burnley chief executive Scott Twine, who is on loan at Hull City for the remainder of the campaign, gave a cautious response to questions about where his long-term future lies and said indicated his sole aim as now helping the Tigers gain promotion.

According to Transfermarkt, the 24-year-old had the opportunity to impress at times at Turf Moor last season, scoring three goals and one assist in 18 appearances in all competitions.

It will be interesting to see if there is more turnover in midfield during the January transfer window, but for now at least fans can be excited about a promising addition to the defensive ranks.
