The investigation revealed that a distinctive red key fob seen in riot footage matched one Williams was known to possess. He was arrested in Savannah, Georgia.
This case adds to the list of over 1,500 individuals charged in connection with the Capitol attack, with many hoping for leniency under the incoming administration. Williams’ NFL career included a stint with the Lions during the 2016 season.
