Perry Farrell Seeks Medical Help After Punching Guitarist Dave Navarro at Jane’s Addiction Concert

Perry Farrell, the frontman of Jane’s Addiction, is seeking medical assistance following a physical altercation with guitarist Dave Navarro during a recent concert, according to his wife, Etty Lau Farrell. The incident, which occurred during a Sept. 13 show in Boston, shocked fans and abruptly ended the band’s tour.

Etty Lau Farrell took to Instagram on Saturday to update fans, revealing that her husband, 65, is taking time to “reflect and heal” after the unexpected altercation. “Perry already has appointments with an otolaryngologist and a neurologist,” she shared. “If you know and love Perry well, you know there’s no need for me to address the other false narratives. Our souls know.”

The fight, which resulted in Perry Farrell punching Navarro, was captured on video, showing Farrell being restrained and pulled away from the stage. Just days later, the band announced they were canceling the rest of their tour and issuing refunds to fans.

Etty Lau Farrell previously explained that Perry had been frustrated by the extremely loud stage volume, which was affecting his voice and exacerbating his tinnitus. She noted that the tension between the band members had been building for some time, and the complaints from fans in the front row during the Boston show pushed Perry to his breaking point.

“We are equally astonished at Perry’s physical outburst as you are,” Etty wrote. “But you must know that Perry had been pushed to his absolute limit. To that end, we apologize.”

In his own statement shared earlier, Perry Farrell expressed regret for his actions. “I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family, and friends for my actions during Friday’s show,” he said, acknowledging that he had reached a “breaking point” that led to “inexcusable behavior.”

Navarro also spoke out about the situation, citing a “continuing pattern of behavior and mental health difficulties” with Farrell as the reason for canceling the U.S. tour. He emphasized that the safety of the band and the ability to deliver a quality performance was no longer possible under the circumstances.

Jane’s Addiction, formed in 1985, is known for hits like “Jane Says” and “Been Caught Stealing.” The band had embarked on their tour in August with original members Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins.

As fans await updates on Farrell’s recovery, the band’s future remains uncertain following this turbulent chapter.
