Leeds United’s position on the last-minute transfer of Max Aarons revealed amid news of his exit from Bournemouth….

On Monday, August 26, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Leeds United is considering right-back Max Aarons as one of their options ahead of the transfer deadline on August 30.

Aarons was poised to join Leeds last summer, having completed a medical with Daniel Farke’s team. However, he reversed his decision and chose to join Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth in the Premier League instead.

Daniel Farke was 'desperate' to lure Max Aarons to Leeds, but there's been a twist

At 24 years old, Aarons, who previously worked with Farke at Norwich City, was not included in Bournemouth’s squad for their match against Newcastle United. Despite this, Iraola confirmed after the game that Aarons is fit and available for selection.

With Jayden Bogle already added to the Leeds squad this summer as Farke seeks to strengthen his fullback options, there is still a noticeable lack of depth behind Bogle. Sam Byram, a potential backup, has concerning injury and fitness issues, leaving Leeds with limited options if Bogle were to get injured.

Leeds United managed last season with Archie Gray and Jamie Shackleton filling in crucial roles, but with these academy graduates now playing elsewhere, Farke’s choices are significantly reduced.

Aarons could address this issue effectively, given his proven abilities at the Championship level and familiarity with Farke’s management style. The decision on whether Bournemouth will allow his transfer before the window closes remains uncertain, but if a deal can be made, it would be a practical move for Leeds.

In related news, Chris Sutton has offered his opinion on Farke amid recent “odd” transfer activities at Elland Road.
