Novak Djokovic: I can’t play again becouse of my knee injury

In Paris, Novak Djokovic expressed concern about his recently surgically repaired right knee after experiencing pain during his 6-3, 7-6(3) win over Stefanos Tsitsipas, which secured his spot in the Olympic semifinals for the fourth time. Despite the discomfort, Djokovic is determined to continue his pursuit of his first Olympic gold medal. He plans to assess the condition of his knee with his physio and the tournament’s medical team before his next match against Lorenzo Musetti.

Djokovic, who previously tore his meniscus at the French Open in June and underwent surgery, returned to competition at Wimbledon, reaching the final despite wearing a knee sleeve. During the match against Tsitsipas, Djokovic took anti-inflammatory medication after trailing in the second set, which helped temporarily, but he acknowledged that the pain might return by the next day.

Despite his record-breaking achievements, including 24 Grand Slam titles and more weeks at No. 1 than any other player, Djokovic has yet to win an Olympic gold, which remains a top priority for him this season. He remains hopeful that he will be ready for his upcoming semifinal match (Overdrive) (earMUSIC).
