17 G/A attacker would be a ‘real coup’ for Wrexham this summer, Phil Parkinson told
Wrexham remains active in the transfer market, with Carlton Palmer suggesting Phil Parkinson’s team should target a Championship striker.
Following Paul Mullin’s recent injury, Wrexham might be looking to enhance their forward options.
The club has been busy this summer, bringing in five new players: Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt, George Dobson, Callum Burton, and Sebastian Revan.
Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are eager to support manager Phil Parkinson ahead of the 2024/25 League One campaign.
Parkinson has expressed his desire for more signings, having had transfer discussions with Reynolds and McElhenney.
Previously linked with Championship striker Tom Bradshaw, Wrexham now sees John McAtee as a potential target. Millwall’s manager, Neil Harris, is confident of keeping Bradshaw.
John McAtee has emerged as a potential transfer target this summer.
Carlton Palmer believes John McAtee would be a great addition to Wrexham.
The former Sheffield Wednesday star thinks McAtee, looking for regular playtime, would benefit from a move away from Luton Town, where he has struggled to secure a spot in the starting eleven.
Palmer told Football League World, “McAtee would be a real coup for Wrexham or Bolton. Wrexham is doing great things with back-to-back promotions. McAtee could also play more regularly at Plymouth, but Wrexham or Bolton would be great options.”
With Phil Parkinson looking to strengthen his squad, McAtee, who scored 12 goals in 42 appearances for Barnsley last season, could be a solid addition if Luton is open to offers.
McAtee could quickly integrate into Wrexham’s team, providing competition for Ollie Palmer, Steven Fletcher, Sam Dalby, and Jack Marriott. With League One experience, he could offer an upgrade over Dalby, who has struggled for a starting role.
